What is this calculator for?
Every time a client, customer, or buyer pays you through PayPal, PayPal takes a cut — a percentage of the payment plus a fixed fee. The amount you quote is rarely the amount you receive. This calculator answers two questions sellers ask every day:
- Forward: "If I charge $120, how much actually lands in my account?"
- Reverse: "I need to receive $100 after fees — what should I invoice?"
How to use

- Choose your currency — the fixed fee updates automatically.
- Toggle international if the payer is in another country (adds 1.50%).

Tips for getting paid
- For domestic US payments, prefer QR code (2.29%) in person or Goods & Services (2.99%) for simple transfers.
- International payments add 1.50% — quote a little higher, or split the fee with the client explicitly.
- Receiving money as a personal "Friends & Family" transfer to avoid fees is against PayPal's rules for goods/services and can get accounts limited — use Goods & Services.
- Round your fee-adjusted quote up to a clean number — clients notice, and it covers rounding.
