Morse timing rules

• A dot is 1 time unit, a dash is 3 units.
• Gap between parts of the same letter: 1 unit. Between letters: 3 units. Between words: 7 units.
• The international standard used here follows ITU-R M.1677-1.

How do I read Morse code?

Morse code uses short signals (dots) and long signals (dashes) for each letter. The most famous pattern is · − · · for the letter S and − · · for... the letters together form SOS: ··· −−− ···.

How do I write Morse code?
